Grade: NGS 8-10

We are currently recruiting for a Chemical Process Owner to join our Nuclear Facilities team for Rolls-Royce Submarines team based in Derby.

The Chemical Process Owner (CPO) is responsible for the performance, safety, and continuous improvement of designated chemical processes within the Core Production manufacturing facilities.


Acting as the technical authority, the CPO ensures processes operate efficiently, meet quality standards, comply with all nuclear, radiological, conventional and environmental safety standards and regulations, and support business objectives.


This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with operations, manufacturing engineering, facilities engineering, maintenance, safety, and quality teams.

What you will be doing: 

The Chemical Process Owner will be responsible for safe and compliant operation for the chemical processes at Rolls-Royce Raynesway. This includes but is not limited to;

  • Component processing.
  • Effluent treatment.
  • Process Chemistry.
  • Procedure audit/ review.
  • Process optimisation.
  • Compliance with standards/ relevant good practice, including Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH).
  • Chemical Process HSE Investigations
  • Chemical Process Safety.

We are looking for a Chemical Process Owner. A successful candidate will have several years of operational experience as a Process Chemist or Chemical Engineer. Relevant degree qualification and industrial experience is essential.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance.  Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. 

Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
