Within Enterprise Architecture team for People and Hubs we are looking for a new Chapter Lead for the Corporate Technology architecture chapter. As a Chapter Lead Architect, you will lead an experienced team of Domain and Solution Architects. The position is based in Amsterdam with architects also based in in the same location.
Roles and responsibilities
As a Chapter Lead Architect for the chapter, you will be responsible for both architecture delivery at Enterprise Architecture level as well as looking after the chapter members and ensuring their growth.
The main responsibilities as expert architect is:
- Subject matter expert and proven expertise on at least one of the domains, that fall under this chapter. The domains include amongst others Human Resources, Enterprise Service Management, Corporate Real Estate and Facilities and Employee Engagement.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of Employee Experience and implications for the domains in the chapter.
- Staying up to date with latest external developments for these domains.
- Defining a long-term (5-10 year) views for the domains considering external and internal drivers.
- Contribution to the definition of the strategy for the domains considering the Technology Strategy for ING.
- Definition and maintenance of the high-level current state architecture on all levels (business, information, application and technology) for the domains. Ensuring that the architects in the chapter does similar for their individual domains.
- Definition and maintenance of overall target state views on all levels as well as architecture roadmaps (as applicable) to achieve the target states. Ensuring similar is done by the architects for each of the domains.
- Responsibility for the architecture governance for the domains and adherence thereto incl. forums, quality of submissions, decision and deviation management.
- Compilation of standard, standard solution and reference architecture documentation as needed that impacts either of the overall domains. Ensuring similar is done by the architects for their individual domains.
- Ongoing guidance, review and feedback to the architects on architecture deliverables.
- Fit for purpose, clear presentations in forums including architecture and operational forums up to executive-level.
- Stakeholder management of all levels of stakeholders from technical teams to business stakeholders and vendors representatives.
- Ensuring implementation according to approved architecture deliverables by the relevant delivery areas.
The main responsibilities as chapter lead are:
- Recruitment for the chapter.
- Performance management.
- Ensuring ongoing development of hard and soft skills.
- Leave and absentee management.
- Ensuring compliance to ING policies for the chapter.
- Mentoring and coaching of the architects.
- Managing work allocation, capacity and transparent feedback to the business and delivery stakeholders on delivery against commitments for the chapter.
- Ensuring communication to the chapter on global Enterprise Architecture developments and general technology developments.

- You have strong experience in enterprise architecture with proven delivery.
- Demonstrated experience managing expert teams ensuring collaboration across team member. with different focus areas.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing architecture solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical topics to various audiences.
- Ability to develop strong and collaborative partnerships with organizational leaders across departments.
- Bachelors / master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics or Financials related field.
- Knowledge of and experience with IT architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, ArchiMate), modelling governance standards and an agile work environment.
