The Business Analyst (Officer) is responsible for supporting change initiatives across the Transfer Agency business by eliciting, analysing, validating and documenting business requirements for changes to processes, policies and information systems. The role works in close partnership with Operations, Product, Technology and Testing teams to ensure that business needs are clearly understood and effectively translated into fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
The role is primarily an individual contributor position, providing hands‑on business analysis support across multiple initiatives within a regulated financial services environment.
Business Analysis
Work with business representatives to understand, analyse and document requirements, scope and acceptance criteria
Analyse current and future‑state business processes and define detailed as‑is and to‑be process models, including mappings and business rules
Interpret business needs and translate them into clear functional and operational requirements using standard templates
Conduct walkthroughs of requirements with Business and Technology stakeholders and obtain appropriate sign‑off
Perform initial analysis of Change Requests and provide accurate business analysis effort estimates when requested
Delivery & Change Support
Analyse new or enhanced system functionality to understand how it supports and impacts Transfer Agency business processes
Work closely with Technology, developers and test teams to ensure requirements are correctly understood and implemented
Provide support to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test preparation, execution support and issue resolution
Produce Application Support Documents, User Manuals and Training Materials as required
Report progress, risks and issues to the Project Manager or Change Lead and escalate where appropriate
Process Improvement & SME Contribution
Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing processes to increase efficiency, reduce risk or meet changing customer or regulatory requirements
Act as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned systems, products or Transfer Agency processes
Support small initiatives, ad‑hoc problem solving and short‑notice business changes as required
Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis standards, templates and methodologies
Essential
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role or a relevant operational role within financial services
Good understanding of Transfer Agency operations; experience with TA systems is an advantage
Strong business analysis and requirements‑gathering skills
Experience across the full project lifecycle, including support of User Acceptance Testing and implementation activities
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly define requirements leaving no room for misinterpretation
Ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders across business and technology teams
Good organisational, prioritisation and time‑management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple initiatives in parallel
Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Self‑motivated, proactive and accountable for delivery
Desirable
Experience delivering system implementations, migrations or significant business change initiatives
Familiarity with Agile or Lean delivery methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
Experience using delivery or requirements tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence)
Business Analysis qualification (e.g. IIBA, CBAP) is an advantage
Exercise due care and diligence in all activities, ensuring adherence to internal policies, controls and regulatory requirements
Identify, manage and escalate operational, financial or regulatory risks as appropriate
Drive quality and accuracy across all analysis artefacts and deliverables
