The Enterprise Architecture team have the important role to serve the needs of Fidelity by enabling the Business, Technology and Data strategies to flourish in order to realise targeted business opportunities and value. Enterprise Architecture operates across portfolio delivery and enterprise domains, ensuring there is the right balance between what is sensible for the enterprise as well as meeting programme specific needs.

About your role


As the Portfolio Architect for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) lines of business (including Finance, Procurement, and Treasury), you will provide leadership and Enterprise Architecture services to stakeholders to direct technology investment and transformation, from an architecture perspective, ensuring CFO initiatives are delivered in line with the business, technology and data strategies.

This includes working with senior business stakeholders to understand and develop their long-term vision, planning a target state architecture strategy and roadmaps that deliver on business and technology objectives, and providing technology leadership and guidance to support realisation of the strategy.

In this role you will:

Architect - Know your estate in terms of business and technical capabilities, applications and data assets.  Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand business needs, objectives and challenges, defining and agreeing the technology architecture vision, goals, target state architecture, and roadmap of initiatives that guides technology investment for the evolution of the application portfolio from current to future state.

Lead & Communicate - Be an advisor to business and technology leaders on CFO architecture and strategy, managing these relationships to achieve consensus and agreement to the vision and roadmap.  Act as a senior leader across functions, proactively communicating decisions, roadmaps and insight to technology and business colleagues.

Deliver - Lead the design and support the implementation of scalable, reliable, adaptable, and secure enterprise-wide systems and applications, considering both business and technology aspects.  Translate high level business architecture into technology architectures that align to global strategies, simplify the existing architecture, deliver cost saving opportunities and, where appropriate, reusable services - ensuring that architectural governance and standards are maintained.

Innovate - Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, driving innovation within the organisation.

About you

You are an experienced architect or have relevant technical leadership experience that will enable you to lead the formation of architecture visions and strategies that directs and optimises technology investment to realise business and technology objectives.

You have strong knowledge and experience in the finance business domain to act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders.  You have good negotiation and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with senior leaders across Fidelity, and you can convey complex abstract technical concepts in business relevant, non-technical terms. You are up to date on architecture principles and technologies to provide expert guidance and thought leadership.
