Job Summary: This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Technical Administrative Work Category at the Entry/Developmental Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DKAIAA-OE32.

Major Duties:

  • Performs a variety of developmental assignments in support of the overall work of the organization classified at less than the full performance level for recruitment and training purposes.
  • Receives tailored instruction, guidance, training, and closer supervision designed to equip incumbent with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful performance in the intermediate or full performance level position.
  • Receives informal and on-the-job training intended to enhance individual technical competencies. Network engineering support for IP or Optical transport to the Network Performance Data Engineering Branch.

Qualifications: Student Interns qualify based on their educational achievements. To be eligible for the Student Internship Program, you must submit unofficial/official transcripts with the current enrollment period course load along with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 - The absence of this information will result in an ineligible rating. Transcripts (Are Required) To qualify at the 03 - Completion of I full academic year of post-high school study. To qualify at the 04 - Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree. To qualify at the 05 - Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree. To qualify at the 07 - Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education; or Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree. To qualify at the 09 - Completion of 2 academic years of graduate level education, or a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. Per OPM - Student Trainee Requirements for initial appointment - The required education must lead to a bachelor's degree with specialization in or directly related to the field in which the student trainees will receive training on the job. The degree of specialization in this field must satisfy on graduation the specific educational requirements in the qualification standard for the corresponding two-grade interval positions. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
