RHA is hiring a Certified Peer Support Specialist in Asheville!
Job Location: 356 Biltmore Ave Asheville NC
Schedule: Full-time
Position Requirements:
• Certified as a Peer Support Specialist or 1 continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment (including mental health/substance abuse treatment or diagnosis) and eligibility for certification as Peer Support Specialist by the governing agency
• General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
Responsibilities:
• Engaging with individuals supported at Neil Dobbins Facility Based Crisis Center.
• Building Rapport with individuals supported at Neil Dobbins Facility Based Crisis to increase follow up success after discharge.
• Supporting/assisting individuals in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems and connecting them to community resources
• Assisting individuals in finding resources, advising of processes, and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions, locating social activities, or provide other assistance as needed
• Provide successful 7 day follow up with all residents being discharged from Neil Dobbins, ensure active engagement with follow up plans and assist residents by providing warm handoffs to desired level of care.
• Provide support and coordination efforts with all of Neil Dobbins Staff, ensuring quality resident care.
