The Certified Animal Lab Technician will be responsible for basic care for animals including observation, feeding, transporting and laboratory housekeeping.
Essential Responsibilities

Maintains animal holding rooms and support areas to include, but not limited to, sanitizing and cleaning of all lab equipment.
Stocks supplies.
Performs a regimen of daily housekeeping tasks in common areas.
Performs weekly cage, wire and rack change-outs, including sterilization of all equipment and facilities.
Changes water, bedding and food on a set schedule.
Monitors daily health and environment in animal rooms.
Reports any problems or deviations to designated personnel.
Accurately records health and other information on breeding colony and provides accurate written record of daily animal room activity.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements
0 - 3 years of prior animal care experience in a laboratory, veterinary clinic or other related experience is required.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification required from the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).
Valid unencumbered Oklahoma Driver's License.
