About This Opportunity

The ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Environmental and Agricultural Solutions to Antimicrobial Resistance (CEAStAR) is seeking a Centre Coordinator to support the smooth and effective operations of the Centre during a 9-month maternity leave period. 

Working as part of the CEAStAR Operations Team, this position plays an integral role in coordinating the Centre’s administrative processes, maintaining operation continuity across partner organisations, and supporting Centre leadership in achieving ongoing milestones.  

Key priorities during this period will be coordinating the collation of data for the 2025 Annual Report, assisting the Organising Committee with planning for the 2026 One Health Multiple Solutions international conference hosted by CEAStAR and CEAStAR ECR Bootcamp, and providing high-quality administrative and meeting support to the Executive Committee and Centre Director. 

Key responsibilities will include:

Operations Management

Coordinate Centre operations across UQ and partner institutions, provide administrative support to leadership and committees, assist with annual ARC report submissions, maintain records, and support other administrative staff.

Finance and Reporting

Monitor operational and project expenditures against approved budgets, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with collating data for reporting.

Human Resources and Training Support

Collaborate with Centre committees and University departments to support the CEAStAR Training and Development Program, including organising bootcamps, workshops, training events, and symposia. Assist with coordinating student placements with industry partners, managing documentation, logistics, progress monitoring, and resolving issues as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with university services, partner organisations, and the ARC to support collaborative research and maintain strong working relationships. Coordinate stakeholder engagements, assist with planning Centre events—including annual meetings, the 2026 conference, and the CEAStAR Bootcamp—and ensure professional, responsive communication across the Centre.

This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position (maternity leave cover) from 19 January 2026 until 2 October 2026 at HEW Level 7.

About You

  • Completion of a degree with at least four years of subsequent relevant experience and (preferably in the tertiary education or research sectors); or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated administrative or project coordination experience in a complex research setting, including the ability to apply and implement policies and procedures.

  • Experience coordinating project reporting processes, monitoring and tracking project budgets, and assisting with contracting. 

  • Experience in planning and organising or supporting the delivery of multi-stakeholder events, meetings or workshops. 

  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop effective collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
