Supergoop! is seeking a dynamic Director of Public Relations and Corporate Communications to lead our press strategy and elevate our brand’s presence across top-tier, digital, and emerging media as well as establishing Supergoop!’s corporate communication strategy to build trust and transparency and manage reputational risk and stakeholder relations. This role will report to our CMO and is responsible for shaping how the brand shows up in the press—driving consistent, compelling storytelling that builds credibility, cultural relevance, and long-term brand equity.  The ideal candidate is a press-first PR leader with deep media relationships, strong editorial instincts, and experience stewarding a modern, high growth beauty brand through both proactive storytelling and reactive moments.

Key Responsibilities

Press Strategy & Leadership

  • Own and evolve the global press strategy, ensuring alignment with brand vision, product roadmap, and business priorities
  • Define press objectives, KPIs, and annual plans (launches, brand campaigns, partnership moments, executive narratives, thought leadership)
  • Serve as a strategic comms advisor to brand, marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Monitor media trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to adjust PR strategies accordingly.

Media Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier beauty, fashion, lifestyle, business, and trade editors
  • Secure consistent, high-quality press coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and podcasts
  • Lead pitching strategy, press outreach, and editorial calendar planning
  • Manage press inquiries, interviews, embargoes, and exclusives

Product & Brand Storytelling

  • Lead press strategy for product launches, hero SKUs, and innovation stories
  • Shape brand narratives including mission, POV, founder stories, and category leadership
  • Partner closely with Brand Marketing, Social, and Influencer, to ensure cohesive messaging that amplifies larger brand, partnership, and product launch campaigns. 

Press Moments & Events

  • Oversee press previews, desk-side appointments, media events, and experiential moments 
  • Manage press gifting strategy and seasonal send-outs with a focus on impact and relevance

Corporate Communications Management

  • Create comprehensive communication plans aligning with overall business objectives, vision and values. 
  • Advise senior leadership on messaging, tone, narrative, and reputation management. 
  • Build and maintain a positive public image and corporate reputation. 
  • Lead Crisis Communications.  

Crisis Comms & Reputation Management

  • Serve as point person for reactive press, reputation management, and sensitive inquiries
  • Partner with Legal and Executive Leadership team on crisis communications as needed
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of the industry regulatory landscape to inform proactive and reactive press communication as needed. 

Measurement & Reporting

  • Define success metrics for press impact (quality of coverage, share of voice, message pull-through)
  • Deliver clear, insightful reporting to leadership
  • Continuously refine strategy based on performance and media insights

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in public relations, with established connections in beauty and lifestyle media.
  • Beauty, wellness, or consumer brand experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of success securing top-tier editorial coverage
  • Established relationships with beauty and lifestyle editors and producers
  • Exceptional writing, pitching, and storytelling skills
  • Experience driving results in a leaner, fast-paced team environment.  This role has no direct reports, so should possess a hands-on “roll up your sleeves” mentality to day to day work. 
  • Exceptional media relations skills 
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in PR tools and media monitoring platforms.

Annual Salary Range: $120k - $150k/year + 12% bonus potential
