Company Description

Rothschild & Co Investment Managers in Luxembourg, a management company responsible for open-ended and closed-ended funds for which it delegates the portfolio management to group external as well group internal portfolio managers. It covers both traditional asset classes as well as private equity and private debt.

Over the last eleven years the management company has experienced significant growth and wants to recruit a profile to cover a 1-year maternity leave.

In this context, the Management Company is looking to recruit a Middle Office / Delegate Oversight Analyst for a 1 year CDD at its Luxembourg office.

Brief Role Description

The role encompasses responsibility (along with two Junior Middle Office Analysts, one Middle Officer, one Senior Middle Office Analyst and one Middle Office Manager) for the oversight of delegated functions related to the middle office, including ongoing monitoring and due diligence, as well as coordination and supervision of all other aspects related to these third-party service providers. In addition, the successful candidate will also be responsible for a broad range of other operational items related to both the managed funds, third party service providers and the management company itself.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the relevant processes and procedures to satisfy the management company’s legal and regulatory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Delegate and service provider oversight:
    • Assist in completing initial and ongoing due diligence of third-party service providers.
    • Assist in day to day monitoring of delegated activities in line with CSSF requirements.
    • The key service providers include:
      • Fund Administrators
      • Distributors
      • Portfolio Managers
      • Transfer Agents

  • Project management and operational coordination:
    • Assist in the coordination between internal groups and external service providers for projects around fund events (launches, closures, onboarding etc…) and improvement initiatives. The various internal groups and external providers are spread across Luxembourg, London, Paris, Zurich, Los Angeles and New York.

  • Management company financial control
    • Work with the management companies finance team to help coordinate and monitor invoicing with the funds and external service providers

  • Ad Hoc Items
    • Participate in ad hoc projects and other tasks for the funds and management company including (but not limited to):
      • Audit coordination
      • Regulatory reporting
      • Generating management information on the funds and management company
      • Problem Solving

Candidate Description

Given the breadth of the role, the successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and ideas to make their mark on the role and the team by being active in their contribution to the set up and running of the work this team does. 

  • Qualifications
    • Masters degree in Finance or similar.
    • Fund Industry knowledge (ideally 2 to 6 years)
    • Strong accounting skills
    • Fluent written and spoken, English and French required.
    • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, excel, powerpoint etc…).
