Category Manager - Office Print, Australia

As Category Manager – Office Print (Australia), you will drive the continued evolution and growth of our Office Printing business. You will be responsible for end-to-end product line management, defining business plans and growth strategies aligned to local market opportunities. Working closely with sales teams, you will ensure seamless execution of category initiatives while actively monitoring KPIs and sales performance to optimise outcomes. The role also requires strong collaboration with regional and global stakeholders to align strategy and deliver business success. You will lead the development and execution of the 4P strategy (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) tailored to the Australian market, enabling effective go-to-market execution, ensuring product readiness, and driving category performance through targeted initiatives and sales enablement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial and operational metrics of the category – revenue, margin, market share, owned inventory, channel inventory
  • Leads overall engagement with several sales teams with limited oversight from the manager in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Contributes and actively participates in defining the category business plan and strategies to drive growth and profitability including ownership and accountability of the 4Ps process
  • Collaborates with various internal teams from marketing, sales, and finance to ensure seamless execution of category plans
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales performance to identify areas for improvement and develops action plans accordingly
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of product categories, business management, and sales challenges and strategies.
  • Gathers and analyzes customer feedback and data to understand customer needs, preferences, and pain points, and translates insights into actionable improvements
  • Build relationships and represents the team at a senior level with the sales force and other partners
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) execution: ensure product readiness for launch execution of products in the country. Drive readiness across local sales, marketing, and partner teams, including evangelism of products for local trainings, demos, etc. Monitor launch execution and provide feedback for continuous improvement
  • Holds responsibility for product line and quota management for a significant share of the product range or a specific customer segment
  • Oversees functional responsibilities in one or several areas such as market analysis, marketing engagement, etc
  • Leads the partnership engagements with external IT vendors
  • External engagement with channel partners (retail, wholesaler and reseller)
  • Owns the relationship with regional and local key stake holders on - financial metrics, pricing, product launch, forecasting, share targeting

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in category management, P&L management, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
