Job Description:

What will you work on?

As the Category Manager, Amazon Europe, you will formulate, execute and lead the EU team to support the merchandising strategy and Spin Master’s online growth objectives within the EU/UK markets. Your focus is to deliver best in class Amazon experiences across each EU country site including UK, partnering with all local teams to drive digital shelf excellence. This involves defining the FY range, ensuring AMZ EU sales forecasts are accurate via our consensus process, driving traffic and conversion for our catalogue portfolio and optimizing aspects of the digital shelf including availability, placement, content compliance and review sentiment. As the Team Lead, you will utilize the technology and tools available and be the go to person for range planning, merchandising initiatives and knowledge.

How will you create impact?

  • Define the AMZ range across UK/EU and partner with KAM’s and AMZ demand planner in our monthly consensus meeting to ensure accurate sales forecasting. Manage the priority catalogue portfolio across Amazon Europe
  • Be the AMZ lead in our SM excess meeting to ensure overstocks are managed 
  • Develop and maintain an e-commerce merchandise strategy to supports Amazon’s digital shelf and specific growth plans for the catalogue portfolio across EU/UK
  • Provide support to develop, standardise, and execute the best-in-class e-commerce executions in collaboration with colleagues from sales, marketing and eCOE teams
  • Drive and review content compliance strategy for new and existing brands/products
  • Leverage digital tools to analyse and review sentiment for new launches
  • Manage and align Amazon EU/UK marketing budget and plan/share best practice across all brands for peak seasons, events and launches throughout the year (pending new MD discussion)
  • Oversee and review current marketing agencies across EU/UK to measure effectiveness and return on investment with objective of driving both organic and sponsored search and sales
  • Assist the teams in optimizing product listings using expertise of keyword research, digital marketing, SEM, online display advertising, and SEO from inception of goal to full execution
  • Collaborate and partner with our licensor’s to build and drive brand execution on site

What are your skills and experience?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related eCommerce field required; MBA an asset
  • Minimum 2+ years prior experience in eCommerce merchandising/specialist, preferably with a toy, retail or consumer products company
  • Success with implementing and maintaining Digital/eCommerce systems
  • Knowledge in Supply Chain, Trade Marketing, or Merchandising
  • Advanced knowledge of the Amazon.com ecosystem and flywheel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong data analytics, problem-solving, reporting, business modeling & forecasting skills
  • Working knowledge of Power BI is an asset
  • Strong presentation and collaborative skills with all internal and external teams
  • Strong project management abilities; prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong Management Skills: communication, planning, delegating and decision-making
  • Capable of adapting management style to support the growth and motivation of individuals

Please be aware this is a 12-month fixed term maternity contract. Spin Master works in a hybrid model with 4 days per week onsite.
