About the opportunity

An exciting casual opportunity exists for a Grade 2 or 3 Allied Health Professional (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist considered) with Hand Therapy skills and knowledge to join a busy public hospital. This role provides hand therapy services to both inpatients and outpatients and supports patients presenting with acute, subacute and chronic conditions.

You will work alongside an established and supportive hand therapy team comprising of Grade 2 and Grade 3 clinicians, with access to shared expertise, peer support and clinical supervision. This position is embedded within the broader Occupational Therapy department who deliver services to the Emergency Department, Short Stay Unit, Acute, Subacute, Hospital in the Home, Health Independence Program and CHSP/Support@Home services.

This opportunity is well suited to clinicians seeking to consolidate or expand their hand therapy skills in a dynamic, multidisciplinary hospital environment, whilst contributing to high quality, patient-centered care.


What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy

  • Current and full registration with AHPRA

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Hand Therapy

  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.

  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.

  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.


You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
