The School of HASS is home to a vibrant and diverse team of academics across disciplines such as Asian Studies, Community Development, English, Creative Writing, Sociology, Sustainable Development, and more.
As part of the College of Law, Arts and Social Sciences (LASS), our team collaborates with colleagues from Creative Media and Communication, Law and Criminology, and Indigenous Knowledge. Together, we foster a supportive, interdisciplinary environment that values innovation in teaching and research.

We are inviting expressions of interest from casual academics to join our academic staff pool, with potential opportunities available across the following disciplines:

Casual academics play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our courses and contributing to our academic community on a flexible basis. Engagements are determined by institutional needs and aligned with your area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities may include:
Supporting the delivery and coordination of courses and units
Facilitating academic activities such as lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops, demonstrations, and student field excursions
Assisting in the development and enhancement of course content, including teaching materials and assessments

What you’ll bring to the role:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications/experience in a relevant discipline.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic academic setting.
Desirable attributes:
Postgraduate qualifications (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field.
Experience teaching or tutoring at the tertiary level.
Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technologies.
Prior experience working in higher education or a similar academic role.
