GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures and assists the provider during catheterization lab procedures at a technical level under the direct supervision of a technologist. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures, up to the level of documented competency, that require independent judgement and initiative.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares for and assists the physician in catheterization lab procedures by integrating knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques (50%)

  • Operates equipment, troubleshoot equipment as indicated, and contacts proper support personnel in collaboration with their preceptor (15%)

  • Assists in monitoring the effects of procedural activities by identifying adverse reactions/conditions and properly responding (15%)

  • Completes all required documentation for procedures including image storage and achival (10%)

  • Other duties as assigned (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • High School/GED

  • Presently enrolled, and in good standing, in a radiology technologist program

  • CPR

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance
