Carbon - Teflon Machinist

The Carbon/Teflon Machinist will be performing various tasks within the Carbon/Teflon Department while maintaining a team atmosphere with an emphasis on cross-training.  

2nd shift - Monday - Friday 3pm-11:30pm.

Responsibilities:

• Main Focus: Teflon, Mori, Lathe, Gasket Cutter

• Strive to exceed efficiency, utilization, and productivity metrics, while maintaining good quality
• Adhere to safe work habits, rules and practices, including the correct use of safety devices and equipment; maintain a clean and orderly workplace to include preventative machine maintenance
•  Responsible for quality of work performed; work efficiently and to required specifications with minimal supervision
•  Willing to move to where needed
• Must have flexibility in work hours (shift) and willing to work overtime
• Train and maintain skills needed to support main Carbon/Teflon functions as needed
• Participate in KSM, CI, 6S, and other team/site initiatives.
• Additional duties as assigned by team leader and/or supervisor

Requirements:

• 3+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes/mills.

• Experience with measurement tools and blueprints

Preferred:

• Verbal Communication – Uses clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions.

• Planning and Organizing – Works with guidance to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives .

• Health and Safety - Applies elementary concepts to manage and apply safe systems of work.

• HS Diploma / GED
