What’s the role
1. Technology Theme Development and Assessment
Oversight and management of budget expenditure for projects delivered under his/her responsibility, guaranteeing the Levy compliance.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify key technology themes of strategic importance to the Carbon and Biofuel business and which can be developed through externally funded R&D projects.
Plan, facilitate and participate in technology workshops and other stakeholder events to develop an in-depth understanding of the technology challenges and opportunities facing Carbon and Biofuel and potential routes to solutions.
2. Project Management
Provide project management expertise to ensure effective and timely delivery of Technology projects.
Set, agree and monitor performance standards for projects ensuring compliance especially HSSE and Ethics & Compliance standards/policies relevant to the R&D activities undertaken by suppliers and Universities.
Work closely with the developers and other funders to ensure that the sponsors' requirements are being met and if required, provide project management support to the developer team: meet with the developers on a regular basis to ensure that targets are being achieved and give project direction.
Ensure that projects are professionally managed and are driven to deliver the agreed outputs within budget, interfacing with Shell technical experts and assets as required.

3.Relationship Management
Identify appropriate stakeholders and engage/manage relationship(s) at appropriate level. This extends to other oil and gas companies, Universities, State and Federal Research Councils, Regulatory authorities e.g. ANP, CNPq etc.
Manage project relationships to ensure appropriate oversight of the projects, identify and maintain engagement in the programmes from the participants and promote integration between work streams towards a common goal.
4.General
Maintain surveillance of the wider technology arena, and track developments, competitor and supplier activity with potential relevance to the Low-Carbon Tech agenda: attend relevant industry conferences, develop networks of contacts etc.
Communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally: share knowledge with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in Brazil on a full-time basis for anyone other than the current employer.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Ecology, Agronomy and related areas (MSc degree is desirable)
3+ years of experience in related field
Solid knowledge in Project Management
Technical and analytical knowledge in research and development, particularly in carbon projects and Life Cycle Analysis
The ability to work productively with a range of personnel and disciplines, both within Technical and the business and both technical and non-technical
Fluent in both written and spoken Portuguese and English is essential
Good interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Must be a good written and verbal communicator, able to present and summarise issues concisely
Must be a clear thinker, able to assimilate and analyse a wide range of information and generate pragmatic solutions
Ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders
