C.H. Robinson is looking for a Capacity Strategy Manager to join our team. In this role you will take ownership to strategize, align resources and procure the appropriate capacity solution for certain strategic business, dedicated capacity opportunities, as well as priority and/or committed freight. You will develop and build relationships with commercial, capacity, and carrier communities to ensure freight moves in accordance with aligned customer expectations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Capacity Procurement & Solution Design
Serves as Capacity lead in pre-RFP planning process. Provides subject matter expertise and curates feasible solutions to execute the business opportunities. Identifies risks and collaborates with internal partners to effectively solve problems.
Performs post award procurement planning; accountable to ensure award is appropriately matched to the right capacity solution/team). Interprets carrier analytics and leverages other tools (market data, freight and pricing tools and resources) to guide informed buying decisions within aligned geography.
Responsible for activities that evaluate award health; monitors adherence to capacity procurement plan and performs monthly review against customer scorecards. Action plans to meet service metrics.
Performs continuous improvement to capacity strategy over lifecycle of the award. Provides day-to-day problem resolution; identifies opportunities and issues, determines the best course of action, and implements solutions. Works closely with internal resources on shipment updates, problem resolution and/or operational execution.
May be required to book freight as business needs dictate.

Establishes effective relationships and maintains regular connectivity with key stakeholders to drive collaboration and effective solutions to enable growth.
Has direct interaction with customers and carriers to review market dynamics and trends, advise on current and future business needs, discuss recent wins/losses, and identify opportunities for additional business.
Quality
Focuses on behaviors and activities to improve quality, including booking automation, on time performance and hourly compliance within aligned geography.
Review on time and compliance performance, aligning with customer expectations.
Ensures quality Key Performance Indicators are met according to aligned customer expectations.
Complies with expectations as defined in internal trading rules.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
A minimum of three years of 3PL capacity/carrier account management experience
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Previous experience creating strategic procurement solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to the appropriate audience
Professional presence, strong influencing skills and ability to build effective relationships, primarily focused on mid to senior level leadership.
Ability to gather various points of data to understand business conditions, draw conclusions and formulate an effective course of action.
Capable of making effective decisions of varying difficulty and complexity, based on data, expertise, and circumstances specific to the situation.
Ability to understand daily or hourly freight landscape and prioritize effectively to ensure optimal coverage

Compensation Range
$28.94 - $61.01The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
