About the Opportunity

Amentum are recruiting for two Capability & Resource Leads. These are strategic roles accountable for driving success and growth aspirations of the Business Divisions via innovative approaches to Skills, Capabilities and Resourcing. The roles will require the application of tactical and strategic resource planning, capability development, skills mapping, and programmes delivering inclusion.

Resource management remains one of the biggest risks to our markets, so we need to think differently on how we approach our overall capability strategy – this role is responsible for understanding the client requirements, market demands and the business division strategy, to drive results and effectively ensure the organisation has the capacity to meet these demands.

Leadership & Talent Management:

As a representative of Amentum, you will be responsible for developing a comprehensive framework that empowers our colleagues to pursue successful and adaptive career paths, ensuring their skills remain relevant in an ever-changing market. Key responsibilities:

  • Aligning resource management with the organisation’s strategic goals.

  • Build people capability to deliver the strategy, including organisational design activities for existing and future opportunities.

  • Managing resources to maximise productivity and efficiency.

  • Promote inclusivity, diversity, well-being, and continuous improvement.

  • Assess critical skills and forecasting future needs to ensure the organisation has the capacity to meet these demands.

  • Handle resource conflicts and shortages by reallocating resources or hiring additional employees.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Senior Leaders, Talent Acquisition and HR to plan and execute resource management strategies.

  • Develop a culture of cross-functional collaboration to improve utilisation and cross pollination.

  • Integrate with our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) team to maximise efficiency in line with strategy.

  • Own and manage the process to develop and maintain a high-quality resource demand focus across the business, enabling effective and timely decisions are made around resource mobilisation and deployment.

  • Deliver high-quality, data-rich dashboards and reports for stakeholders, enabling real-time, strategic decision-making.

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships across internal and external stakeholders to foster alignment and trust.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring a unified approach to achieving organisational objectives.

  • Serve as a key communicator to executive leadership, presenting complex data and strategies with clarity and impact.

  • Potentially manage any resource support functions within your business unit if the units volume requires this.

  • Demonstrable background within Resource and Talent Management.

  • Customer focus, collaborative, results-oriented, and adaptable to project demands.

  • Able to lead, collaboratively influence and guide others regardless of reporting hierarchy structure.

  • Ability to analyse complex data, generate insights and present to a leadership team.

  • Technical proficiency with resource management and forecasting tools.

  • Strategic thinker. Is curious and keen to seek and test alternative approaches to problem solving.

  • Experience in managing change within an organisation.

  • Ability to build networks in the industry to find job opportunities whilst staying updated on trends.

  • Excellent communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
