Cadet Fire Protection ModellerKickstart your drafting and design career with a team that will support your growth every step of the way. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Cadet Drafter who’s eager to learn, collaborate and develop strong technical skills across multiple engineering disciplines.
No prior workforce experience is required—just curiosity, commitment, and a passion for engineering and design.
Work under direct supervision to set up drawings and basic 3D models using CAD software.
Maintain electronic filing, configuration control, and version management for your own work.
Support senior designers and engineers with paraprofessional engineering tasks.
Extract and apply information from engineering specifications, standards, and supplier documentation.
Contribute within multidisciplinary teams to develop an understanding of engineering workflows and processes.
Participate in supervised site visits to assist with field data collection (measurements, photos, laser scanning).
Provide general technical and administrative support to senior team members.
Manage your own allocated tasks to meet agreed timeframes and budget expectations.
Vocational training through TAFE or other tertiary institutions—Certificate IV or Diploma in Building/Engineering Design & Drafting (or similar).
Introductory training in 3D CAD applications such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, or Tekla.
Demonstrated interest in engineering technology and its practical applications.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
