YOUR ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Systems MCAD Designer as a part of our Electrical Distribution Systems’ team. You will be responsible for designing wiring harnesses for our local OEM programs utilizing 3D Catia software. The position is in Troy, MI. Work may be performed on site at Ford, working on behalf of Aptiv EDS. 

Major Accountabilities:

• Design wiring harnesses in 3D Catia V5 per Ford rules
• Exercise quality checks utilizing DIAS, E2KS, RQA & IPS
• Complete DPA's (design studies) per Ford cadence
• Attend packaging block meetings with customer
• Document issues in Aptiv EDS system and attend team meetings to review progress
• Support DRE's by preparing files for Ford validation, Total Design Reviews
• Design harnesses in a robust and cost effective manner
• Experience with Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform is considered a plus

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

• Associates Degree in Engineering or related experience
• 3 years of Catia CAD software knowledge/experience
• 3 years of Teamcenter or equivalent PLM software experience
• Ability to work in a customer environment and represent Aptiv EDS as a supplier to Ford
• Ability to plan around timelines and complete work deliverables on time
• Must be legally able to work in the United States without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now, or at any time in the future
