The Advanced Mission Capabilities-Restricted program family has a near-term need for a Senior Principal SEIT Lead – AMC on a restricted program from the Linthicum, MD location. The candidate selected will be responsible for leading a qualified, multidisciplinary team and program coordination in development of significant new capabilities.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The Senior Principal Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Lead is responsible for leading a cross-discipline engineering team on a high visibility project and interface with Engineering & Program Management as well as Software and Hardware Engineers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance. The selected candidates will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly-organized, and detail-oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
This SEIT Lead role requires the ability to lead SE (systems engineering, I&T (integration & test), and MS&A (modeling, simulation, and analysis) development efforts. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate organizational and technical problem-solving skills to ensure successful execution of SEIT scope and brief internal and external leaders on status and obstacles.
Lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases. Products include but are not limited to operational/tactical capabilities, models and simulations, tool, and technical artifacts/reports.
Plan, execute, and close out system reviews (e.g., SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, systems engineering peer reviews, Pre-test reviews, Post Test Reviews, Pre-Ship reviews, Physical Configuration Audits, Functional Configuration Audits), coordinating with Engineering Review Authority (ERA).
Manage program Verification & Validation efforts.
Develop and execute project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts.
Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts.
Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership.
Interface with functional departments to secure team staffing.
Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements.
Brief internal and customer leadership on progress of work assigned.
This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, master's degree with 6 years of experience or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
U.S Citizenship is required.
A current / active DoD Secret Clearance.
Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Understanding of DoD systems engineering principles (e.g. requirements and CONOPS definition, architecture development, integration and test).
Experience leading Integrated Product Team (IPT) initiatives, driving technical direction and fostering cross functional collaboration.
Experience creating and maintaining project schedules, aligning milestones with program goals and ensuring timely delivery of key results.
Experience with developing and executing project schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Active Top Secret DoD Clearance or higher.
Experience with customer engagements at technical and programmatic levels.
Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects.
Domain expertise in defense sensor systems.
Experience with the technical development and direction for many aspects of engineering on a program, including design, development, implementation, testing, and delivery of product to a customer.
Experience coordinating with external subcontractors, primes, and/or suppliers.

Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
