Job Details:

This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Purpose and Objective

  • The Packer is responsible for efficiently screening, packing, and boxing high-quality products from an assembly line.
  • Ensures adherence to company standards and safety protocols.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Continuously pack corn chips into boxes from a chute.
  • Assemble boxes lined with bags and fill them with chips.
  • Inspect products for defects prior to packing.
  • Verify box weight and occasionally lift boxes weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Rotate between various positions on the production line as required.
  • Perform all tasks safely and responsibly.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, both written and verbal.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve production goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Ability to work in environments with temperatures ranging from 65°F to 90°F.
  • Use of work stands as needed.
  • Physical flexibility including wrist, hand, and shoulder movement.
  • Ability to bend, lift, climb stairs, and walk.
  • Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • The Team Member must be willing and able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The Team Member is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold.
  • The Team Member will work where the noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 

Training (Equipment & Methods)

  • Job-specific training will be provided by a designated trainer during the shift.
  • Performance evaluations will be conducted in accordance with the Training Program SOP.
  • Monthly training sessions on Safety and GMP topics will be led by the immediate Supervisor using materials provided by the Safety Director and QA Manager.
  • Noise Levels: Typically loud; hearing protection is mandatory.

3 time rule and 180 days rehire waiting period.
