The Opportunity
This position works out of our Alajuela location in the Structural Heart Division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.
As the Buyer Planner IV, you’ll be responsible for all areas of production planning for product lines which require a higher level of planning ability. Drives continues improvement activities and develops and implement thorough manufacturing build plans, for existing and new products, that meet defined service level and inventory targets for the division Responsible for the procurement of materials and supplies used in the manufacturing processes, it may include to provide materials support (purchasing, tracking, supplier management, and administrative support) for both production and non-production items
What You’ll Do
- Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules, work with suppliers to maintain supplies to minimize shortages of supplies.
- Prepares and place PO’s per requirements of MRP/requisitions/STOs and confirm the delivery date. Monitors delivery of product against PO’s and STO’s.
- Negotiate ETAs as needed.
- Follow the procedures around purchasing and planning keeping the records clearly documented and attached in each document required.
- Works with inventory management/warehouse management to resolve issues. Monthly inventory management of excess, obsolete, expiring inventory.
- Manage new product introductions to achieve agreed upon launch dates with targeted launch inventory levels while developing and implementing plans that minimize phase out obsolescence.
- Support the excess, obsolete, expiring inventory control, including developing and implementing solutions to minimize inventory write-offs and communication with Finance on write-off potential.
- Lead special projects as requested to reduce cost, increase efficiency, etc
- Other duties as assigned.
Shift Admin
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, STEM Career or related field.
- 4+ years of experience:
- Experience in a Materials/Procurement environment.
- Advanced Statistical data analysis and report writing skill required.
- Understanding of MRP, purchasing, and production principles.
- Able to identify and implement cost savings opportunities and implement plans to realize savings.
- Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
- Advance English Level.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ year working in a highly regulated environment preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO, GMP, JIT, ERP, SAP and Lot control desirable.
- Basic project management skills desirable.
- APICS or other Planning/Procurement related certification is a plus.
- Master's degree is a plus.
