Job Summary: This position is part of the Cheyenne River Education Line Office, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Business Technician you will be responsible for serving as critical administrative support in a BIE School location on or near the Reservation. This position requires a YEAR LONG CONTRACT per Public Law 95-561 and will require contract renewal on an annual basis. This position IS NOT suitable for telework or remote consideration under any circumstances.

Education & Experience Requirement: Level 03: Must have High School or General Equivalency Development diploma AND five years of related experience OR an Associate Degree OR 60 college semester hours in related field AND two years of related experience Related field of study may include administrative technical areas (e.g., human resources, accounting, management, etc.) which provides knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in supportive administrative role. Per Job Category Standard #072, Related Experience must be equivalent to lower level of difficulty in a technical area. Representative technical areas may include bookkeeping, budget, finance, purchasing, human resources, administration, clerical, etc. For Level 03, related work experience should be in two (2) or more different administrative technical areas (e.g., human resources assistant, accounting technician, purchasing agent, etc.) and equivalent to level of difficulty of level 02 or GS-5 level of difficulty for a minimum of one year in each technical area. Per 62 BIAM, Chapter 11 - Creditable Experience - must be gained after receiving the minimum required degree and in a position essentially identical to the approved professional job category, may be credited. Human Resources Office will consider paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
