Join Our Team as a Business Systems Analyst – Gas Operations!

In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure that our U.S. Gas Transportation and Management (USGTM) system operates seamlessly supporting quality customer service, regulatory compliance, and accurate financial performance across various Enbridge’s gas transportation pipeline and storage assets.

What you will do:

  • Learn how to design, develop, test, and implement programming requirements for the LINK system, which is a proprietary gas management system used to manage 25 pipeline and storage facilities under Gas Transmission. 
  • Maintain project plans and adhere to project management standards throughout the course of projects performed. 
  • Monitor trends in system performance and quality to ensure that customer transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
  • Manage customer inquiries received through phone calls and e-mails.  
  • Coordinate LINK system security access.
  • Design, organize, and conduct group, individual and web-based training events to both internal and external customers.
  • Develop, craft, and implement enhancements for the gas management system.
  • Maintain and monitor the gas management system to ensure compliance with regulatory and financial controls.
  • Provide support of the gas management system reporting tools.
  • Perform control testing as required.
  • Coordinate and facilitate updates to the business continuity and disaster recovery plans. 

Who you are:

You have:

  • 1-3 years of directly related experience in addition to a bachelor’s degree/technical diploma. For candidates who do not possess a university degree, an additional 3 years of experience is required   

You can:

  • Tackle problems effectively by using analytical skills to reach a logical conclusion while working independently
  • Handle confidential information in a critical manner while being a phenomenal teammate that exhibits strong work ethic and a positive mentality

You are:

  • An excellent written and verbal communicator who is clear, concise, and organized with the ability to converse with customers and other groups  
  • A proficient to advanced user of office communications technology such as the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Interpersonal skills where you can influence and listen to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management in a team environment
  • Ability to assimilate and prioritize a significant volume of information and determine the proper course of action, including the evaluation of information gathered from multiple sources
  • Effective negotiation skills while working with internal and external customers
  • Proactive self-starter with high level of motivation and personal initiative
  • Demonstrated decision making and leadership skills
  • Understanding of the FERC Gas Tariffs, statements of operating conditions, and associated services for the USGTM gas pipelines and storage facilities
  • Understanding of project management practices applicable to computer systems development
  • Knowledge of nominations, confirmations, allocations, segmentation, scheduling, capacity release and related gas management system functionality

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in typical office environment where travel may be required (approximately 5% of the time)
  • Must be open to work on call for one week approximately every 8 weeks

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
