About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Returns & Supplier Liaison Specialist to coordinate customer returns, manage supplier RMA processes, and act as the primary intermediary for failure analysis requests between suppliers and customers. This role is essential for ensuring timely issue resolution, maintaining inventory accuracy, and strengthening supplier and customer relationships. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and skilled in communication and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Returns (RMA) Management

  • Process and manage customer return requests from initiation through closure.
  • Communicate return instructions, timelines, and resolutions clearly and professionally.
  • Inspect and log returned materials to verify issues and determine appropriate disposition.

Intermediary for Failure Analysis Requests

  • Serve as the communication bridge between customers, suppliers, and internal teams regarding failure analysis.
  • Collect and organize data, photos, test results, and customer feedback to support investigations.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on failure analysis results and communicate findings to all stakeholders.
  • Escalate recurring or systemic concerns to Quality or Engineering teams.

Supplier RMA Coordination

  • Initiate supplier RMA requests based on defective, nonconforming, or returned materials.
  • Track RMA status to ensure replacements, credits, or repair actions are completed promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with supplier requirements.

Stock Rotations & Inventory Management

  • Support stock rotation initiatives with customers and suppliers.
  • Coordinate the movement, segregation, and disposition of returned or aging inventory.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts, discrepancy investigations, and material accuracy initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate ERP records of inventory adjustments, quarantines, and returns.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify patterns in material defects, customer concerns, or supplier failures.
  • Work cross‑functionally to support root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Recommend improvements to return processes, supplier quality handling, and material flow efficiency.
  • Support data reporting for returns metrics, supplier performance, and failure trends.


Job Level Specifications:

  • Foundational knowledge of specialized disciplines, industry practices and standards, acquired via academic instruction and/or relevant work experience of substantially the same level.
  • Develops solutions to defined tasks, typical assignments and projects. May be solved by the application of specialized foundational knowledge, using existing approaches and solutions.
  • Work is usually performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. Receives initial direction although work may be reviewed for accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborates with immediate management and team members within the department or function.


Work Experience:

  • Typically less than 2 years with bachelor's or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
