As Business Partner (advisory) Team Lead, you will lead a team of Business Partners (advisory) in the People Support Solutions (PSS) organization within one of the regions. The Business Partner (advisory) partners flexibly and mostly virtually with leaders across the globe, offering on-demand, ad-hoc support on Business Partnering topics that need more immediate or short-term guidance and value creation. With a good understanding of the business needs and the business context and an excellent ability to apply key P&C concepts, policies and processes, the Business Partner (advisory) provides coaching, guidance and support to leaders to help them diagnose and translate their business needs into immediate P&C approaches and ensures effective implementation of solutions in partnership with other chapters.
Working closely with P&C colleagues, this leader will lead 13 BPAs spread across different countries, supporting different enterprises and an open and diverse work culture based on trust and performance. Your activities uphold Roche's reputation as an attractive employer – today and going forward.
Team Leadership and Culture: Manage all employment decisions (hiring, development, performance, compensation), establish the team's budget, act as an escalation point, and build an engaging culture aligned with Roche Leadership commitments.
Service Delivery: Ensure high customer and employee satisfaction by providing urgent, high-quality, end-to-end P&C solutions and successfully completing cases and projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with PSS teams, P&C chapters, and enabling functions (Finance, IT, Procurement) across regions to ensure consistent and effective service delivery and global consistency.
Strategic P&C Guidance (Business Acumen): Offer immediate, short-term strategic guidance to leaders on core P&C needs like succession, talent management, performance, and compensation, leveraging P&C experts for timely solutions.
Process and Compliance: Consult, advise, and train leaders on global P&C processes and system topics (e.g., new system launches, global grading), ensuring alignment with policies and compliance with legislative requirements.
Trusted Partner in P&C Areas (Leadership): Serve as a trusted partner to leaders, diagnosing and proposing fit-for-purpose approaches for complex P&C topics (e.g., talent, compensation, change management, conflict resolution).
Data-Driven Insights and Innovation: Oversee the analysis of P&C/business data and metrics (e.g., turnover, talent review data) to inform critical decisions, proactively address organizational needs, and recommend innovative solutions.

In this position, you will be leading a team of Business Partners (advisory) focusing on an area of practice(s). You will be working with stakeholders from various functions and across levels within the organization. Strong leadership competencies and demonstrated success in change management are critical.
You bring the following skills and competencies:
P&C Expertise and Business Acumen: Requires a passionate, knowledgeable P&C professional with the ability to navigate the P&C system, leverage different functions for business impact, and use data/insights for problem-solving and innovation in a fast-paced, global, and virtual environment.
Customer-Centricity and Accountability: Must demonstrate customer-centricity, anticipating needs and showing cultural awareness, alongside strong end-to-end ownership to ensure successful outcomes.
Communication and Influencing Skills: Needs strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills, including demonstrated negotiation ability, courageous authenticity, and the capacity to diagnose short-term P&C needs and offer fit-for-purpose solutions.
Analytical and Leadership Mindset: Must possess excellent situational assessment and objective evaluation skills to translate complex topics, embody core capabilities like problem-solving and a growth mindset, and have a minimum of 3+ years of people leadership experience (preferred).
Required Qualifications: Must have a university degree (HR preferred), 5+ years of related experience in business partnering in multinational companies, be fluent in Mandarin & English (additional languages a plus), and have strong customer orientation and experience in service delivery management or a shared services environment.
