What You Will Achieve
This role is an EMU & Security Leadership Team role reporting to the EMU & RM Lead and is responsible for providing Strategic project direction, and Culture and Talent Development for the Sanford EMU & Security organization. The incumbent has the accountability to provide strategic direction across functions and is expected to leverage resources to deliver results. The role is accountable for facilitating and delivering results directly and indirectly around critical business challenges.
This role will have primary responsibility for implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing methodologies aligned to Pfizer’s integrated manufacturing excellence program, driving improvements through performance metrics and KPIs, and managing the health of all business processes needed to support GMP operations.
As a Leadership Team member, the incumbent is expected to sponsor and lead projects/initiatives either within function or across functions in line with the area and/or network strategy.
How You Will Achieve It
Participates as a fully active member of the EMU & Security leadership team, assisting with department.
Lead strategic direction, culture development and talent planning for the EMU organization.
Provide coaching, mentoring and identify/share development opportunities.
Work cross functionally to facilitate improvements and address critical business challenges.
Oversee the creation and modification of business processes for EMU, leveraging IMEx and digital solutions for work simplification, and holding innovation sessions, as needed.
Act as a liaison between EMU departments and site departments to build cohesion, collaboration, and alignment on accountabilities.
Gather external feedback on EMU.
Collaborate with peer groups across the site to identify improvement opportunities to ensure EMU is meeting needs and expectations of the site.
Facilitate discussions for conflict resolution.
Sponsor and lead projects and initiatives to drive consistency and improvements across the EMU organization delivering results.
Collaborate cross-functionally and use innovative solutions. Helps others embrace and positively implement change and innovation; actively learns from and understands the importance of change and innovation at a very deep level.
Serve on cross functional teams as a representative of the department and facilitate communications and activities/projects between EMU departments, site departments and/or Network.
Advance the functional use of Operational Excellence tools (e.g. 5s, Six sigma, IMEx (Integrated Manufacturing Excellence), etc.) in the area.
Use data analytics to maintain oversight of KPIs for department; design datasets and dashboards to present/communicate data and trends effectively to the organization.
Effectively coach and engage colleagues in lean management elements such as 5S, standard work, visual management, TPM, etc. through facilitation and training.
Collaborate with key stakeholders in cross-functional teams to solve site-wide problems and find connections between the department’s metrics to align shared goals.
Lead continuous improvement projects to ensure programs are integrated across the organization and ensure projects are aligned with EMU and site priorities.
Enhance the cultural environment of the department by monitoring engagement through interviews, group sessions, analyzing Pulse Survey data, etc. Lead projects to improve, plan team building activities, plan quarterly huddles, etc.
Monitor EMU expense budgets to maximize budget utilization to align with EMU & site requirements.
Monitor EMU’s cost improvement projects (CIP) and represents the department at cross-functional meetings.
Ensure EMU KPIs and metrics are appropriate for driving business results and reported on time.
Own and lead the IMEx CI Loop process for EMU & Security organization
Qualifications
Must-Have
BA/BSi n Sciences, Engineering or related field with at least 4 years of experience in Pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing industry; OR a master's degree with at least 3 years of experience; Associate's Degree with 8+ years or HS degree with 10+ years of experience.
Must have demonstrated business acumen and administrative, managerial skills, technical report writing, computer, and oral presentation skills.
A working knowledge of the relevant portions of cGMP regulation is required.
Good communications and ability to interact across functional and divisional boundaries.
Demonstrated leadership skills through projects, facilitation, and/or indirect leadership.
Demonstrated ability to seize accountability, to hold people responsible, and to act decisively.
Understanding and demonstrated use of Operational Excellence techniques leading to achievement of best-in-class Network Performance Principles.
Knowledge of PGS Innovation tools and human performance principles.
Skills to translate and present visualization of data into a format that can trigger action and business decisions.
Ability to effectively coach and mentor colleagues.
Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires walking around the site, going to where the work is performed to see it in action for observation, standing and sitting for long periods of time, ability assess data and formulate proposals.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Work schedule may include weekdays and/or weekend days with first, second, and/or third shift hours as appropriate for assigned tasks/activities.
Some travel for the position may be required.
