The Business Intelligence Lead solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The Business Intelligence Lead will support market and corporate leaders by providing data-driven insights on the performance of provider contracts. Candidates should be able to explore, analyze, and present insights from complex datasets to leadership. In this role, you will exercise independent judgment and will advise leadership based on an accurate understanding and interpretation of insights and trends observed in data and forecasts while working under minimal supervision. The Business Intelligence Lead:

  • Works with Humana corporate, market, and network leadership to understand business strategy and data analysis needs; recommends solutions and technologies to meet those needs
  • Leads cross-functional or internal data analysis or reporting initiatives to deliver insights and recommend actions
  • Builds optimized, scalable, and well-documented analytical processes to mine, integrate, summarize, and analyze data from various platforms as part of a wider program to drive company strategy
  • Serves as the data and visualization subject matter expert in assigned portfolios of work; upholds and enforces the highest development standards
  • Provides mentoring to teammates to promote data and visualization best practices and grow the organization

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience utilizing in SQL and/or SAS; experience transforming data and enhancing relational data sets for reporting and analytics
  • Minimum 4 years of experience utilizing Power BI and/or other data visualization platforms
  • Minimum 2 years of project leadership experience
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining technology solutions in low-code application technology like Microsoft Power Apps/Power Automate
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements between business users and technical development teams
  • Experience consulting with users at all levels of familiarity with modern BI tools to design and implement solutions
  • Experience administering business intelligence reporting suites for large user bases
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and assess scope, scale, and return on proposed initiatives
  • Proficiency in verbal/written communication to senior and executive leadership

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Power BI or the Power Platform technology stack
  • Experience using Databricks
  • Experience analyzing medical claims or health care provider contracting
  • Experience working with hospital system and/or value-based provider data

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$117,600 - $161,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
