Business Intelligence Consultant with Project Ownership

About the Role

As a Business Intelligence Consultant at TIG, you combine in-depth technical expertise with full ownership of your projects. You design, develop, and implement BI solutions for our clients—primarily educational institutions and their chain partners—while also contributing to the further professionalization of our project-based way of working.

You act as a trusted sparring partner for clients and a connecting force within the team. You monitor progress, communicate clearly about scope and planning, and ensure projects run smoothly. In doing so, you help our clients become more data-driven and support TIG in working in a more structured and effective way.

Your Responsibilities

• Translating functional and technical customer requirements into concrete BI solutions.

• Designing, developing, and testing dashboards and data models (Qlik Sense, QlikView, and/or Power BI).

• Connecting and integrating data sources via ODBC, data warehouses, APIs, and web connectors.

• Taking ownership of project outcomes, including planning, coordination, progress tracking, and delivery.

• Organizing and leading meetings with clients and internal teams.

• Documenting, transferring, and evaluating delivered solutions.

• Providing training sessions and workshops for end users.

• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contributing to a more project-driven approach within TIG.

• Thinking along in identifying new opportunities and supporting presales activities (such as proof-of-concepts).

What We Are Looking For

• At least a bachelor’s degree (HBO level), preferably in Business Information Systems or a related field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a BI consultant or data analyst.

• Experience in developing dashboards using Qlik Sense, QlikView, and/or Power BI.

• Familiarity with project-based working methods (Agile or similar).

• Knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and data integration (REST/SOAP, JSON, XML).

• Strong communication skills in Dutch, both verbal and written.

• The ability to translate customer questions into clear solutions and set priorities effectively.

• A proactive, analytical, and collaborative mindset.

• Interest in contributing not only technically, but also to structure and process improvement.

Als Business Intelligence Consultant bij TIG combineer je inhoudelijke expertise met eigenaarschap over je projecten. Je ontwerpt, ontwikkelt en implementeert BI-oplossingen voor onze klanten, dit zijn vooral onderwijsinstellingen en ketenpartners. Je draagt tegelijk bij aan de verdere professionalisering van onze projectmatige werkwijze.

Je bent voor klanten een inhoudelijk sparringpartner en voor collega’s een verbindende factor. Je bewaakt voortgang, communiceert helder over scope en planning en zorgt dat projecten soepel verlopen. Zo help je niet alleen klanten datagedreven werken, maar ook TIG om gestructureerder en effectiever samen te werken.

Wat ga je doen

• Vertalen van functionele en technische klantwensen naar concrete BI- oplossingen.
• Ontwerpen, ontwikkelen en testen van dashboards en datamodellen (Qlik Sense, QlikView of Power BI).
• Ontsluiten van databronnen via ODBC, DWH, API’s en webconnectors.
• Eigenaarschap over projectresultaten: planning, afstemming, voortgang en oplevering.
• Organiseren van overlegmomenten met klanten en interne teams.
• Documenteren, overdragen en evalueren van opgeleverde oplossingen.
• Geven van trainingen en workshops aan gebruikers.
• Signaleren van verbeterpunten in werkwijze en bijdragen aan een meer projectmatige aanpak binnen TIG.
• Meedenken over nieuwe kansen en presales-trajecten (zoals proof-of-concepts).

Wat wij vragen?

• Minimaal HBO-niveau, bij voorkeur in Bedrijfskundige Informatica of een vergelijkbare richting.
• Minimaal 3 jaar ervaring als BI-consultant of data-analist.
• Ervaring met het ontwikkelen van dashboards in Qlik Sense, QlikView en/of Power BI.
• Bekendheid met projectmatig werken (Agile of vergelijkbaar).
• Kennis van SQL, datamodellering en data-integratie (REST/SOAP, JSON, XML).
• Goede communicatieve vaardigheden in het Nederlands, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk.
• Vermogen om klantvragen te vertalen naar heldere oplossingen en prioriteiten te stellen.
• Een proactieve, analytische en samenwerkingsgerichte instelling.
• Interesse om niet alleen inhoudelijk te bouwen, maar ook bij te dragen aan structuur en procesverbetering.
