At LMCU, you'll find more than just a job - discover a fulfilling career where your contributions truly matter. Join our talented team at Lake Michigan Credit Union and discover the difference an employer who puts people first can make in your career and life.

About this position:

The Business Enablement & Innovation Process Analyst supports the Center of Excellence (CoE) by documenting, analyzing, and visualizing business processes across the credit union. This role focuses heavily on interviewing departmental subject matter experts (SMEs), gathering process details, and converting them into accurate, standardized process flow diagrams using Microsoft Visio. This role works under the direction of a Manager within the CoE and partners with business units to ensure processes are clearly understood, consistently documented, and ready for continuous improvement efforts.

What you’ll do:

  • Process Mapping & Documentation: Build end‑to‑end process flow maps in Microsoft Visio using standardized CoE notation and formatting. Convert complex operational activities into clear, easy‑to‑follow swim-lane diagrams, current and future state maps and supporting documentation and narratives. Update process documentation based on feedback, system changes, or operational modifications. Maintain process documentation repositories and version control.

  • Interviewing & Requirements Gathering: Conduct interviews with cross‑functional SME's to understand existing processes, decision points, handoffs, and pain points. Facilitate discussions to clarify steps, exceptions, and business rules. Translate information from stakeholders into structured process documentation.

  • Process Analysis & Insight Development: Evaluate process steps for inefficiencies, redundancies, and risks. Identify gaps, ambiguities, and improvement opportunities within process flows. Support CoE process optimization initiatives by providing data-driven insights.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Interact professionally with executives, managers, SME's, and cross-functional partners. Facilitate process validation sessions to confirm accuracy of documentation. Communicate findings clearly, using both written and verbal communication.

  • Multi‑Initiative Support: Successfully support multiple process documentation initiatives simultaneously. Balance competing priorities while meeting timelines and documentation standards. Maintain documentation tools and templates.

What you’ll bring:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, operations, information systems, or related field preferred.

  • Training or certification in process mapping, Lean, continuous improvement, or business analysis is a plus (but not required).

  • 1-2 years of related experience in business process documentation, analysis, operations support, project coordination, or similar fields.

  • Experience interviewing stakeholders and translating information into structured documentation.

  • Prior exposure to process improvement concepts, workflow tools, or business analysis methodologies preferred.

  • Proven ability to organize information, manage tasks, and document processes for technical and non‑technical audiences.

Other Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio for process mapping is required.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to decompose complex information into digestible components.

  • Familiarity with workflow diagrams, swim-lane notation, Business Process Modeling Notation or similar frameworks is a plus.

What you’ll get:

  • All Employees: weekly pay and retirement savings options.

  • Full Time Employees: comprehensive health coverage including medical (with prescription), dental, vision, HSA match, paid parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
