Business Development Representative

New York, New York, United States Full Time

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Business Development Representative to join our Plus Oscar team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role:

As a Business Development Representative, you will be a key member of the +Oscar team, responsible for owning top of funnel activity and supporting the Director of Business Solutions across all sales efforts for +Oscar. This role is immediately focused on Campaign Builder, our engagement and automation platform that enables scalable, personalized interventions while automating workflows to drive growth and retention, improve patient and member outcomes, and optimize administrative operations. Built for non-technical users, Campaign Builder allows payors and providers to create omni-channel campaigns with multiple touch-points over time, designed to drive meaningful behavior change. The role is equal parts top of funnel outreach, sales support, and growth execution, and serves as a core driver of new sales conversations and revenue generation for +Oscar.

You will report into the Director, Business Solutions.

Work Location:

This position is based in our New York City office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-Hybrid

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role is: $75,348.00 - $98,894.25 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and sales commissions.

Responsibilities:

  • Own top of funnel outreach efforts for +Oscar across email, cold calling, and social channels to generate qualified sales conversations.
  • Design, execute, and continuously optimize outbound outreach campaigns to increase prospective client meetings, while tracking performance and surfacing insights to inform sales strategy.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads and schedule initial sales demos for the Director, Business Solutions.
  • Support and potential own marketing campaigns through channels like Linkedin alongside Director, Business Development & Marketing.
  • Support pipeline management and sales operations, including scheduling, client correspondence, CRM updates, and reporting on funnel activity and conversion metrics.
  • Partner closely with cross functional teams at +Oscar, including product, marketing, and client teams, to incorporate client insights into targeted outreach and messaging.
  • Serve as a key externally facing representative of +Oscar, engaging with clinical, marketing, and operational stakeholders at payer and provider organizations to understand their challenges and position campaign solutions effectively.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree & 1+ years of work experience in a business development type role.
  • 1+ years of experience executing on top of funnel outreach campaigns.

Bonus points:

  • Experience with lead generation marketing.
  • Direct Payor, Provider, or General Healthcare experience.
  • Strong familiarity with sales best practices and top of funnel strategy.
  • Clear and effective communicator both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize based on the needs and managing multiple opportunities at once.
