The BDR role is focused on achieving goals set by the vendor and Newark collaboratively. This role Identifies the vendor's goals and executes the business strategy and action plans designed by Newark and the vendor, to drive sales. The BDR applies the strategy along with the company’s value proposition to drive sales growth and improved profitability of the line they represent. Develops strategic relationships with the sales center, trains and coaches selling efforts representing Infinite, and aligns action plans based on established strategies/goals, creating and managing the business and execution plans for shared success among vendor partners and the company.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the vendor interface to the company's resources to drive sales. Supports high levels of Sales Agents interactions and is measured on the success of the vendor's sales within the Newark sales organization.
  • Develops strong, strategic relationships with sales agents, and key customer(s) and opportunities, in order to grow the line, and increase the sales funnel, quote and close sales. BDR executes growth strategies and profit drivers to deliver the appropriate business value proposition to the sales agents, in order for them to gain new customer opportunities and convert quotes to orders.
  • Provides leadership and guidance in planning and engagement.
  • Performs critical customer analysis to identify and leverage the sales agent's prospects, executing marketing programs, call campaigns, customer events, and more to achieve growth in their line(s).
  • Engages sales agents in joint planning that integrates the company's services, programs and supplier partnerships securing customer commitment for the development of a comprehensive investment in strategies that advance the company’s market position, entanglement and financial goals
  • Conducts regular business reviews with assigned accounts to track progress toward revenue and growth goals and owns execution of business plan.
  • Maintains and monitors pipeline and metrics for assigned customers, performs analysis and identifies improvement opportunities.
  • Supports supplier's strategies by aligning solutions with sales agents to maximize profitable growth, and customer expansion.
  • Prioritize vendor's products in the sales center, gaining mindshare and commitment by the sale's agents to promote and sell the products they represent, gaining new opportunities with greatest potential for success.
  • Closely manages profitability by minimizing profit leaks and maximizing gross profit.
  • Metrics in place to monitor performance, and maximize all sales opportunities, along with the sales agents, OAM's and other sales teams at Newark.


Job Level Specifications:

  • General awareness of business, financials, products/services and the market. Developing basic knowledge of the industry and sales environment
  • Relies on manager to set objectives and work with leadership to establish goals and execute plans that align with Newark for overall success. Has limited authority/ opportunity to set and negotiate customer product/service terms.
  • Collaborates with internal and external teams and support functions. Has limited direct contact with clients but does speak with customers and system integrators as needed. May work independently or partner with other sales professionals to increase sales.
  • Metrics are defined and utilized to monitor success.
    Work Experience:
  • Minimum experience required is typically less than 5 years with bachelor's or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
