Job Summary :

The Business Development Manager will assist with identifying, investigating, and evaluating new business opportunities and alliances that promote the organization’s objectives.

Develop strong relationships with key users / owners and specifying officials to ensure Fire Suppression Products (water/mechanical/special hazard) are listed as a proprietary or preferred vendor across India.

Understand and advise on applications, and in supporting the pre-bid design process were appropriate.

What will you do?

  • Have strong knowledge of the Indian fire protection markets including competitor products, and able to leverage the advantages of JCI’s water, mechanical, and special hazard products in various applications.
  • To successfully prosecute Fire Suppression Protection Product’s long term strategic plans to increase its market share within India
  • Engage and build strong business relationships with, provide project solutions, and technical training to Architects, Consulting Engineers, end users /owners, key accounts and key industry related bodies. 
  • Initiate and conduct Fire Suppression product seminars to the above target groups and ensure close follow up to develop all possible opportunities.
  • Identify and maintain a 1- 3 year pipeline of potential projects. Coordinate with sales personnel to advice on upcoming projects and to ensure a timely hand over for pricing and execution.
  • Be a focal point for identifying market trends for all product groups and conducting VOC’s to support product development programs and the NPI process.
  • This role would involve travel within India, frequency estimated around 40-60%.
  • This role will be based at either Mumbai, Delhi or Bangalore offices.

What we look for?

  • Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related discipline.   
  • Requires a minimum of 8+ years of business development or sales or management experience within the fire protection industry (or associated industry).
  • Experience and knowledge within at least one of the product areas of water suppression, special hazards suppression systems/product is essential to the role.  
  • Experience in developing relationships with Architects, Consulting Engineers, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), End users / Owners, Key accounts and Key industry related bodies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & presentation skills and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
