Job Title: Business Development Manager, APAC

Why this could be your next big break:

WMG is seeking a dynamic and analytically rigorous professional to power our digital strategy and partnership efforts across the APAC region. This role is the central hub for data-driven insights, financial modelling, and strategic analysis that will drive licensing deals, partnerships, and revenue growth across digital platforms (e.g., streaming services, social media, gaming). You will transform complex data into actionable intelligence and compelling narratives to help structure and evaluate high-impact partnerships.

What you’ll do:

Deal Execution & Licensing:

  • Lead end-to-end negotiations for digital partnerships including, but not limited to music streaming, fitness platforms, social and gaming.
  • Structure deal terms, analyze economics, and optimize revenue models.

Data Analysis & Business Intelligence:

  • Analyze platform performance, market trends, and consumer behavior to generate actionable business insights.
  • Use data to identify new partnership opportunities and optimize existing ones.

Financial Deal Modelling & Valuation:

  • Build, maintain, and evaluate financial models to assess deal performance, ROI, and long-term value.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to support negotiation strategies.
  • Track market benchmarks (rates, market share, growth) to inform pricing and deal structuring.

Strategic Planning & Deck Creation:

  • Develop data-driven presentations and business cases for senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and potential partners.
  • Create materials that clearly communicate complex strategic initiatives, performance results, and market landscapes.
  • Support the development of local and regional digital strategy based on quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Deal Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Support the end-to-end deal process by providing the analytical foundation for negotiations with digital platforms
  • Work closely with Legal, Finance, and Marketing teams to ensure deals are aligned with broader business priorities.
  • Act as a key resource for the APAC business development team on all data-related inquiries.

About you:

  • Experience: 5+ years in a highly analytical role such as data analytics, business intelligence, strategic finance, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling (ROI, sensitivity analysis) is essential. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and/or data querying (SQL, Python) is a significant advantage.
  • Strategic & Commercial Mindset: Ability to translate data into clear, compelling business recommendations. A keen interest in the digital entertainment, tech, or media landscapes.
  • Communication & Storytelling: Exceptional presentation skills; able to simplify complex data and concepts into persuasive narratives for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative Partner: A team-oriented professional who thrives in a cross-functional environment.
  • Bonus, Not Essential: A passion for music and a basic understanding of the music industry or copyright frameworks is beneficial, but not a primary requirement. We will provide industry-specific training.

This position requires a minimum of four days per week in the office. We value in-office collaboration and believe it’s essential for talent development and fostering strong working relationships
