Business Development Director, North Asia Outbound

What we do

We are looking for a strong business development professional to join our fast-growing outbound business for North Asia. You will be responsible for participating in business strategy and taking ownership of execution to drive growth, without compromising on innovation or our company culture. This role requires a proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams regionally and globally, and to stretch yourself to achieve ever greater goals.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven individual with a strong ability to identify and execute on growth opportunities, shape how the market perceives our industry and company, and foster senior strategic relationships—particularly within the gaming and app development ecosystems. You will be motivated by a desire to make advertising work better for brands, publishers, and consumers as they expand globally.

You must have a high aptitude for and comfort level working in complex business and technology environments, along with strong leadership and business acumen.

What you'll do

  • Lead efforts to support brands expanding outbound from North Asia, especially from China, with a focused expertise in the gaming and app industries.
  • Execute on an effective sales action strategy and achieve revenue goals through strong C-level relationship management and strategic selling.
  • Build and maintain a strong ecosystem presence for The Trade Desk among gaming companies, app developers, and related platforms in North Asia.
  • Collaborate with other functional leaders to identify growth opportunities, solve business challenges, and drive efficiency across the organization and regions.
  • Inspire the Sales organization to perform effectively and efficiently through strong leadership and mentorship.
  • Represent The Trade Desk at industry events, conferences, and ecosystem gatherings relevant to gaming and app development.
  • Contribute meaningfully to identifying product gaps and opportunities based on client and market needs within the gaming and app verticals.
  • Participate in product roadmap discussions with senior leadership, product, and engineering teams, advocating for features that serve gaming and app advertisers.

Who you are

  • 8+ years of experience in online advertising, with a strong background in outbound sales and business development.
  • Deep experience and proven track record within the North Asia region, especially China, with strong existing relationships in the gaming, app, and digital advertising markets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and build trusted relationships with C-level clients.
  • Proven track record of driving market development strategies and exceeding revenue targets through strategic sales leadership, particularly in gaming and app-related advertising.
  • Experience at an online publisher, ad network, ad exchange, ad server, SEM platform, DSP, or in other online advertising roles—preferably with exposure to gaming or app monetization.
  • Ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations while inspiring positivity and focus in others.
  • Skilled at building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive teams, partners, and industry groups.
  • Able to execute—and coach others to execute—effectively in a fast-paced environment through exceptional time management and prioritization.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.
