We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Business Development Associate (SBDA) or Business Development Associate (BDA) to join our Asia financial intermediaries (FIT) sales team. The Asia FIT market forms a key part of Capital Group’s plan to grow our Global FIT distribution business and overall Asia business.
The SBDA / BDA position is an integral part of the sales team. You will work primarily with the Business Development Manager (BDM) responsible for developing Capital’s intermediary business in Hong Kong and Greater China and the Senior BDA on a day-to-day basis. The overall Head of Client Group for Hong Kong will also be a key stakeholder in this growing team. There will be regional collaboration with the Singapore based intermediary BDMs and BDA as well given the distribution landscape across Hong Kong and Singapore. You will play a key role in supporting business development by coordinating activities that maximize sales opportunities with clients and prospects. This includes pre- and post-meeting preparation, timely follow-up, and ensuring smooth execution of prospecting initiatives. You will support investor training initiatives as part of the “sell-through” process and work closely with BDMs to enable effective engagement. A strong emphasis will be placed on collaboration with internal teams such as Investment Specialists, Investment Products & Services, Marketing, and Legal & Compliance to respond to queries, deliver accurate information, and provide exceptional service to distributors.
Success in this role requires proactive communication, attention to detail, and the ability to connect multiple stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
The role is based in our Hong Kong office where we have our APAC Client Group associates like Sales, Marketing, Investment Directors and Investment Professionals etc. This position reports to the Head of FIT Hong Kong who is also based in our Hong Kong office.
There will be opportunity to advance to next level based on merits, where you will be assigned dedicated accounts.
Primary responsibilities/essential functions:
Sales and after sales servicing
Working closely with BDM and Senior BDA, assisting in preparation for meetings and coordinating post-meeting follow ups, including entering high quality call reports into the CRM system, Salesforce
Preparing regular investment markets and product updates for clients
Handling straight forward inbound requests and questions from clients
Staying up to date on Capital Group funds and financial markets
Monitoring market intelligence, industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer insights to develop a deep understanding of client needs
Working on ad hoc projects to deepen understanding of clients and sales opportunities
Gaining exposure to the business development process to understand effective prospecting and client servicing while reinforcing a strong customer‑centric approach.
Internal projects and Departmental participation
Liaising with internal teams at Capital Group to create high quality deliverables to clients (Sales teams in other markets, Investment Directors, Investment Professionals, Marketing, Client Service, (investment) Results team, RFP team, Investor Services, Legal & Compliance, etc.)
Working as part of a collegial team of sales associates that shares ideas and best practices
Work in collaboration with the broader Europe-Asia Client Group (EACG) sales team, in global account calls and daily work to ensure activities with global partners are coordinated and seamless

Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in Asset Management or Wealth Management
Foundational knowledge of financial markets, investments and how mutual funds operate
Competency in MS Office applications
Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, and proficiency in English
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
