The Cigna Group is seeking a Business Analytics Summer Intern to support the Evernorth Lab, Cigna’s client-facing data and innovation center. You’ll work on real‑world analytic initiatives that power healthcare at enterprise scale, gaining hands‑on experience with the systems and teams driving meaningful change across our business. Through dedicated project work you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, strengthen your technical skills while building a broader understanding of how technology fuels innovation and transformation in healthcare.

Example Project Work
- Data preparation, QA, and refreshes for Lab analytics, demos, and pilots
- Dashboard updates, trend analysis, and visualization support for client experiences
- Research and synthesis for new Lab topics, AI pilots, and innovation use cases
- Documentation and standardization to improve repeatability and scalability of Lab assets
- Technical support, including building and maintaining digital signage and interactive experiences
Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s in Computer Science, Business Analytics or related majors.
- Technical Skills: Foundational technical knowledge in one or more technology areas such as coding, data analysis concepts, systems or emerging technologies—with the ability to learn and apply new technical concepts in a hands‑on, project‑based environment.
- Courses and Experience: Exposure to applied technology work through internships, co‑ops, research, coursework, academic projects, hackathons, or capstones, with experience working on projects involving problem‑solving, iteration, and collaboration—either independently or as part of a team.
- AI‑Forward Mindset: Demonstrates an AI‑forward mindset, including comfort using AI‑powered tools to support learning, analysis, or technical development, and an awareness of the responsible application of artificial intelligence and automation in real‑world technology environments.
- Well‑Rounded: Demonstrates leadership, initiative, or ownership through academic, professional, campus, or extracurricular involvement; shows adaptability, curiosity, and a growth mindset when exploring new technology areas; communicates effectively in team settings; and is committed to contributing to an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative culture.
Additional Information
- Location: This position is based in our Morris Plains, NJ office. The address is 115 Tabor Road, Morris Plains, NJ 07950. (The role requires a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days per week working onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day of the employee’s choice), and the option to work the remaining days remotely. Summer Housing nor Relocation assistance is not offered, and employees must be able to meet the onsite schedule for their assigned office location.
- Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week beginning June 8, 2026 and ending on August 14, 2026. Working days are Monday – Friday.
- Work Authorization: One goal of our summer internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for leadership roles with The Cigna Group upon program completion. Therefore, this position is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who do not now, or in the future, require visa sponsorship including, but not limited to, H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM.
- Timeline: Process includes a recruiter screen and one additional interview.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship with competitive hourly pay based on academic level and geographic location. For roles located in states that require pay transparency, the expected hourly pay range is $26.00–$27.50 per hour.
- Pre-Employment Requirements: Selected candidates will be required to complete mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days prior to the internship start date. Completion of the drug test requires availability within the United States during this timeframe.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
