Summary
The Business Analytics Sr. Manager leads a high‑performing team of analysts responsible for delivering trusted High‑Cost Claimant (HCC) and Stop Loss analytics, including product performance insights, broker insights and ad hoc analytics. This is a strategic position, created to build the foundational analytic assets and performance views that do not yet exist today.
This leader will define and develop the next generation of HCC and Stop Loss analytic tables, dashboards, and product performance insights that inform Affordability, Pricing, Underwriting, and enterprise decision‑making. This role requires both strong analytical, technical and leadership expertise.
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of business analysts, providing technical guidance and thought leadership to deliver high‑quality, scalable analytic solutions
Act as the HCC and Stop Loss subject matter expert for cross‑functional partners, informing strategy, decision‑making, analytic direction and adoption paths for Stop Loss data assets and insights
Development of foundational stop loss analytic assets and insights
Stop loss and HCC analytics, including product performance and ad hoc analyses across high‑cost drivers, emerging trends, pooling behavior, financial impacts, attachment point dynamics, broker insights, and risk signals; evolve existing analytics and develop new capabilities
Translate complex business questions into clear analytic and data requirements, delivering actionable insights that drive business outcomes
Ensure strong data quality, governance, and controls, reconciling analytic assets to financial sources of truth and driving continuous improvement in data integrity and accessibility
Drive automation and modernization of analytic processes through SQL optimization, data engineering best practices, and close collaboration with Technology and Data Science partners
Communicate insights, implications, and recommendations to senior leaders through clear, concise, and compelling storytelling
Qualifications
5+ years' of experience in healthcare analytics, or actuarial/finance similar roles
Demonstrated experience leading individuals and delivering insights that influence senior‑level decision making
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with modern data platforms and analytic datasets
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to identify cost drivers, trends, and performance insights from large, complex datasets
Ability to translate business questions into clear analytic and data requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytics into clear, compelling insights for executive audiences
Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or a related field highly preferred
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
