Business Analytics Ld Analyst - Vice President

The Business Analytics Ld Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

• Gathers operational data from various cross functional stakeholders to examine past business performance
• Identifies data patterns & trends, and provides insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment etc.
• Recommends actions for future developments & strategic business opportunities, as well as enhancements to operational policies
• May be involved in exploratory data analysis, confirmatory data analysis and/or qualitative analysis
• Translate data into consumer or customer behavioral insights to drive targeting and segmentation strategies, and communicate clearly and effectively to business partners and senior leaders all findings
• Continuously improve processes and strategies by exploring and evaluating new data sources, tools, and capabilities
• Work closely with internal and external business partners in building, implementing, tracking and improving decision strategies
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience
• Experience as an Operations Research Analyst, Analytics Manager, Strategic Business Analyst or related position performing quantitative analytics supporting financial services
• Experience analyzing large datasets; applying mathematical, statistical and quantitative analysis techniques to perform complex analyses and data mining

Education:

• Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Job Description

The team is comprised of risk professionals with subject matter expertise of the key attributes that are critical for effective exposure calculations (PFE, NSE, FS) on Derivatives (OTC) and Securities (SFT) products. This includes knowledge of systems, exposure calculations, transaction data and market data. The proactive identification and improvement of Risk data quality through analysis of key risk inputs and exposure measurements.

Perform risk data quality analysis and address potential risk process and exposure calculation improvements across multiple businesses: Risk Management, IT, Finance, Front Office etc. specializing in Over-The-Counter Traded Derivatives (OTC), Securities Finance Transactions (SFT) and Exchange, Traded Derivatives (ETDs) products.

What you will be doing

• Work closely with Business and Technology partners in designing, implementing and testing enhancements within Credit Risk Exposure Analysis tools
• Document and track to completion (using Agile methodology / JIRA) Business and Technology requirements.
• Conduct trainings and prepare training materials for Credit Risk Exposure Analysis tools to promote more effective use of existing self-service  tools and processes
• Proactively Identify areas for simplification, process automation and potential issues
• Design and prepare Data Quality metrics and Project Status update reports
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision

What we will need from you

• Strong people skills and client focus: ability to interact and successfully influence business partners, technology teams, our technical infrastructure groups and technology managers
• Strong data analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail required
• Previous banking experience coupled with a thorough understanding of Credit Risk measurements and exposure calculations
• Knowledge and experience related to System Development Lifecycle process and tools
• Competency with Tableau, SQL and Python is prefer
• Ability to work on multiple tasks with conflicting demand/timelines. Willingness to learn
