Business Analyst

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams in an Agile delivery environment. This role combines traditional business analysis responsibilities with hands-on Jira administration, release coordination, and the opportunity to serve as a backup Scrum Master. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable operating across both strategic and execution-focused work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business needs, requirements, and success criteria

  • Translate business requirements into clear functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria

  • Analyze existing processes and systems to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities

  • Support solution validation by participating in testing, defect triage, and user acceptance activities

  • Maintain accurate documentation, including requirements, workflows, and traceability artifacts

  • Coordinate and support release planning across multiple teams and workstreams

  • Facilitate release readiness reviews and cross-functional communication

  • Support backlog management, sprint planning, and reporting through Jira dashboards and filters

  • Partner with Product Owners and Engineering to optimize Jira usage and Agile processes

  • Serve as backup Scrum Master when needed to support delivery continuity by facilitating Agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technology or software delivery environment

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

  • Proven ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

  • Experience with Confluence or similar documentation tools

  • Hands-on Jira administration experience (configuration, workflows, dashboards, permissions)

  • Experience supporting or coordinating software releases

  • Financial services or insurance industry experience
