About this Position
Join our Marketing Digital Distribution team as a Senior Business Analyst and play a pivotal role in creating a world-class digital client experience for our US and Canadian sales representatives. You'll work within a team environment to elicit and document business requirements that will be used to implement digital product features, enhancements, and innovative capabilities in a fast-paced software development environment. This role combines technical analysis with client research, data insights, and user experience optimization to drive meaningful business and user outcomes via digital product improvements.
As a key contributor, you'll bridge the gap between business stakeholders and development teams while supporting feature rollouts, communications, metrics tracking, and customer support initiatives.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Requirements Analysis & Documentation
- Autonomously gather requirements through stakeholder meetings and subject matter expert interviews across multiple departments and teams
- Create comprehensive business requirements documentation that clearly communicates functionality specifications to a diverse audience
- Develop business requirements and user specifications for web-based software tools and mobile applications
- Maintain requirements materials and traceability matrices throughout the development lifecycle
Product Development & Collaboration
- Partner closely with the Product Owner to create and maintain product roadmaps, epics, user stories, and use cases
- Communicate requirements effectively to cross-functional team members including software engineers, testers, UI developers, UX designers and IT security analysts
- Serve as subject matter expert regarding application business rules and functionality for integrated product teams operating within an agile Scrum process
- Manage key testing activities and system functionality validation prior to and post production promotes
Customer Support & Analysis
- Provide customer support through ticket tracking systems when applicable
- Conduct client research activities and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities and issue resolutions
- Support feature rollout activities including communications, metrics tracking, and user adoption analysis
- Ensure compliance with applicable IT security, legal and ethical standards
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent industry experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the financial services industry
- Financial industry certifications (Series 6, 7, 63, 65, 66, CFP, CFA) are highly valued but not required
- Professional certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA are highly valued but not required
Essential Skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills including advanced functions, pivot tables, and financial calculations
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and reporting
- Proven ability to elicit and define business requirements from diverse stakeholder groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex technical concepts to various audiences using appropriate visuals and information formats
- Experience creating and maintaining user stories and epics in agile environments
- Demonstrated success working with QA teams to define test scenarios based on business requirements and use case
- Strong process mapping and workflow documentation skills. Experience with business process modeling tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting financial planning software or wealth planning tools for a financial service company or organization
- Understanding of financial planning concepts such as retirement planning, insurance needs, investment strategies, risk assessment, debt management, education and goal savings, budgeting
- Knowledge of financial regulations (SEC, FINRA, CFTC, state insurance regulations) and compliance requirements for financial planning software
- Familiarity with financial products: insurance, securities, mutual funds, annuities, mortgage loans
Technical Proficiencies
- Proficiency in Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar agile project management tools
- Experience with Confluence or similar documentation platforms
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – intermediate to advanced proficiency required
- Proficiency with process flow applications (Visio, Draw.io, or similar)

The salary range for this role is $90k - $110k.
