Burkle Technician
Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for a Burkle Technician on 3rd Shift who will play an important role in the manufacture of a variety of flooring solutions for our residential and commercial customers. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, interested in learning various skills, and who enjoy problem solving.

Requirements
- Set-up and shut down of coating and annealing equipment.
- Making machine/process adjustments on line and on computer.
- Documenting process settings in the computer.
- Achieving set quality standards.
- Line audits to determine UV lamp outputs, coating and temperatures.
- Monitoring parameters such as gloss and coating weights.
- Visual inspections of products for defects and grading.
- Operating a crane and managing the chemical tank farm to include drums and totes.
- Operating quality measurement tools.
- Calibration of oven temperatures and coating weights.
- Operating the conveyor system for the Burkle line.
- Direct LTO’s of material to pull and when to pull it.
- Trouble shooting quality, production, and equipment concerns.
- Working with and training burkle tech assistant
- May be required to drive a lift truck
- Will be working around chemicals
Non-Essential Duties:
- Must be a team player
- Take an active role in committees.
- Must have the ability to be cross trained for other jobs.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop several times a day.
- Must be able to stand for 8 – 12 hours a day.
- Must be able to climb stairs several times through the day.
- Must be able to assist in lifting up to 75 lbs. several times a day.
- Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day.
- Must be able to visualize defects in the product.
Other Requirements:
- Basic reading, writing, and math ability.
- Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained.
- Must be capable of being trained on current computer systems and software
Shift: 3rd Shift
Tuesday-Saturday 12am-8am
