The role

We are looking for a qualified BRT Infrastructure and Operation Specialist to support a significant urban transport initiative in Karachi, Pakistan. The selected candidate will deliver expert guidance on the development and optimization of BRT operations, ensuring that all infrastructure and operational systems function with maximum efficiency and reliability.

• Provide technical and operational advice on planning, implementing, and managing BRT infrastructure.
• Support the development of operational procedures and systems to enable smooth BRT service.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including transport, civil engineering, and maintenance specialists.
• Address infrastructure-related challenges and operational issues to ensure service efficiency.
• Review reports, operational plans, and technical documentation to maintain quality and compliance with international best practices.
• Contribute to capacity building and knowledge transfer for local teams and stakeholders.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of senior-level experience in BRT operations, infrastructure development, or similar urban transport systems, preferably in environments comparable to Pakistan.
• Strong experience in managing complex projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Proven ability to provide strategic and operational guidance for large-scale transport systems.
• Excellent communication skills (English).
