About the role

We're looking for a Brand Designer to join our brand team and own Chalk's visual output across every channel. Reporting to Brand Design, you'll be the creative engine behind our marketing — bringing consistency, taste, and a strong point of view to everything from print, web, motion, and physical spaces.
This is a high-volume, high-variety role. You'll work within Chalk's established design system and take direction well, but you'll also bring attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to move fast. If you're energized by shipping a lot of great work across a lot of different formats, this is the role.

We work in-person Monday through Friday in our NY and SF offices. We don’t currently offer remote or hybrid positions. 

What you will do

• Design and ship a high volume of marketing assets across social, digital ads, email, events, and print
• Support event creative — booth graphics, signage, branded materials, environmental design
• Execute web design work — landing pages, campaign pages, and site updates — using tools like Sanity and Figma
• Execute within Chalk's Figma component library and design system, maintaining consistency across every asset
• Use AI design tools to accelerate production, explore creative options, and iterate faster
• Partner with the growth, content, and field marketing teams to turn briefs into polished deliverables on time

What we’re Looking For

• 2-5 years of experience in marketing or brand design, in-house or at an agency
• A portfolio that shows range — social, digital, web, print, and ideally video or motion
• Strong Figma skills, including working within components and design systems
• Experience with web design and CMS tools — Sanity, Webflow, or similar
• Hands-on experience with AI design tools- Ability to execute quickly and accurately from a brief — you don't need to reinvent the wheel every time
• Organized and communicative — you track your own work, flag blockers early, and hit deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail — you notice when things are off and fix them without being asked

Bonus Points

• Video editing or motion design experience (After Effects, Spline, Lottiefiles, etc.)
• Background in B2B SaaS, dev tools, or tech brands
• You've worked in a fast-paced startup where the brief and the deadline both change

Compensation

Chalk offers early team members a generous salary + equity package based on experience and competitive benefits.
