Meaningful Work From Day One

This role will lead the advocacy function (strategy and execution) for Brown- Forman India, represent our  portfolio of brands, chart out the strategy and drive execution to build and elevate brand engagement with key industry stakeholders,  trade partners, consumers, media & internal teams.

The scope includes the full Brown-Forman India Spirits portfolio and multiple countries (India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan) and will be supported by a team of 2 Brand Ambassadors who report to into this position.

What You Can Expect

As the leader of Brand Advocacy, you'll embody iconic and world class spirits brands, driving brand equity trade and consumer engagement through your expertise and unforgettable experiences.

  • Lead the development of India brand advocacy strategy and roadmap, adapting global brand and division advocacy strategies and translating them to locally relevant India advocacy strategy.

  • Be the Brand Authority: Serve as the definitive expert on our portfolio of brands. You'll share in-depth knowledge of each brand's unique history, production techniques, and relevant category trends with trade partners, distributors, media, consumers, and our sales team.

  • Design & Deliver Education: Implement and manage best-in-class, distinct, and proprietary brand education platforms and tools.

  • Lead Advocacy & Activation:

    • Spearhead and lead the Brown-Forman Partnerships with India Bartender Week, 30 Best Bars and other such IPs, cultivating strong relationships within the on-premise community.

    • Build and maintain relationships with top-tier trade representatives, communities, and organizations to boost the mental and physical visibility of both brands.

  • Cultivate Brand Love: Leverage deep market insights to forge memorable, long-term connections between our brands and discerning customers and consumers.

  • Engage & Educate: Conduct comprehensive training for B-F internal teams, distributor/trade staff, and consumers. Lead masterclasses and participate in bar/trade shows, reinforcing the specialness and authenticity of our portfolio of brands through captivating storytelling to increase brand consideration.

  • Innovate Drink Strategy: Partner with the Brand Team on drink strategy development, including crafting new cocktails and proposing innovative drink formats relevant to our portfolio of brands.

  • Support Commercial Growth: Provide hands-on commercial and sales support for activations in key cities and outlets, which may include attending sales negotiations with the B-F India Sales Team.

  • Generate Insights: Collect crucial market insights, trends, and competitor activity to inform the development of impactful trade and marketing plans.

  • Drive Digital Presence: Develop monthly social media content aligned with brand priorities, current activities, and drink strategies for a portfolio of brands.

  • Partner with brand marketing, trade marketing and commercial team to develop, design and roll out the BF Channel Segmentation Model

  • Mentor and develop the team of 2 Brand Ambassadors and scale up the Brown-Forman India Brand Advocacy Function

  • Craft Brand Tools: Create compelling brand presentations, cocktail recipes/cards, and Point-of-Sale (POSM) materials.

What You Bring to the Table

You're a highly collaborative, self-motivated individual with a genuine passion for the world of premium spirits and a proven ability to connect with diverse audiences.

  • Experience: A minimum of 7 to 8  years of professional experience in a related field, with a strong background in hospitality, marketing, or brand advocacy.

  • Industry Network: A robust, established network within the Indian hospitality and spirits industry.

  • Deep spirits Knowledge: Exceptional, technical knowledge of the global spirits world, encompassing production, categories, and trends for American, Scotch whiskies, Gins and Rums

  • Market Insight: Strong understanding of the India alcohol market and its dynamic bartending industry.

  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain strong, influential relationships.

  • Passion for Culture: Keen interest and passion for the On-Trade, whisky, spirits and cocktail culture.

  • Proactive & Owner-Minded: Possesses a strong sense of ownership and pride, with the ability to proactively propose ideas and strategic plans.

  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex information clearly and deliver compelling, engaging presentations.

  • Team Player & Self-Starter: A highly collaborative team player who is also self-directed and self-driven.

  • Training Acumen: Proven ability to train and educate diverse audiences effectively.

  • Bartending Experience: Past Practical experience working as a bartender is not a must but will be an added advantage.

  • Social Media Management expertise and ability to leverage on ground brand experiences for generating and amplifying high quality on brand content to drive brand awareness & engagement
