The Role and Impact
As a Platform Hardware Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving Intel's manufacturing excellence by ensuring our platform designs are optimized for manufacturability, quality, and cost. Your work will directly influence the seamless transition from product design to high-volume manufacturing, supporting Intel's mission to deliver cutting-edge technology to the world. You will act as a technical interface between product design and manufacturing, shaping next-generation product definitions to ensure scalability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end platform design for manufacturing assembly reviews, providing feedback to optimize manufacturability, quality, and cost.
- Collaborate with design engineering and board layout teams to ensure adherence to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) rules and guidelines.
- Define process parameters and procedures for platform board assembly, including manufacturing instructions, rework instructions, and deviations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements for labels, packaging, and other product documentation.
- Apply knowledge of board and system manufacturing to minimize manufacturing risks, while tracking activities, risks, and gaps.
- Drive new technology requirements and communicate feedback to PCB and platform component suppliers.
- Evaluate and ensure assembly factories meet requirements prior to implementing new technologies.
- Support new technology and equipment capability development by influencing next-generation product definitions for high-volume manufacturing.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience based on business needs or job requirements.
- 0-1+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 0 years with a Master's degree.
- Proficiency in board assembly manufacturing flow.
- Knowledge of PCBA processes and manufacturability principles.
- Technical expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) enabling flow.
- Experience with technical documentation and process definition.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively in group settings.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with design and manufacturing teams.
- Familiarity with quality and reliability standards in manufacturing.
- Ability to strategically influence product design to align with manufacturing capabilities.
