What You Will Do:

As the Blades Senior Technical Manager, you will be the key strategic leader for a team of 13 dedicated Manufacturing Engineers driving producibility and delivery excellence for our most critical Commercial and Military Programs. You will set the vision, prioritize technical initiatives, and champion a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the quality and integrity of our next-generation engine components. This is a vital leadership position where your ability to mentor talent and lead complex, cross-functional projects will directly impact our program success and mission. This is an unparalleled opportunity to lead a critical engineering function, directly influencing the quality and delivery of components for both our Commercial and Military flight programs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage, mentor, and lead a team of 13 Manufacturing Engineers, fostering professional growth and career development.
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership to process manufacturing engineers supporting Commercial and Military Programs.
  • Prioritize resources and work streams to address critical needs and ensure full engagement of the engineering team in supporting delivery and part producibility.
  • Drive continuous improvements in quality and delivery performance, aligning team objectives with overall program goals.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to investigate quality or delivery issues and develop robust, long-term improvement plans.
  • Manage budget, staffing requirements, and hiring initiatives while ensuring strict adherence to Pratt & Whitney’s quality and engineering procedures.
  • Collaborate extensively with program offices, component product teams, customer representatives, and operations management.
  • Lead and drive quality control risk mitigation efforts utilizing tools such as Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology field with 10 years of experience in an engineering role; OR Master of Science Degree with 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience directly leading and managing a team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technical data requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Demonstrated problem-solving expertise using Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.
  • Direct experience in the design, development, and support of production hardware within an aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success in leading cross-functional teams to achieve complex business and technical results.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build meaningful internal and external relationships.
  • Experience in developing and executing high-impact strategic objectives for an engineering organization.
  • Demonstrated skill and success in team leadership, facilitation, coaching, and talent development.
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, policies, and procedures governing manufacturing engineering support and work instruction documentation.
  • Experience with the oversight of data integrity, reporting requirements, and key accountability metrics.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
