Role Overview

The Benefits Administrator supports the administration and ongoing management of Banyan’s global benefits programs, with a primary focus on the US, Canada, India and Pakistan - other regions include the UK, Europe and APAC. This role requires independent judgment, strong operational ownership, and the ability to manage complex benefits processes across multiple jurisdictions.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards, this role works closely with the broader HR team, the Global Payroll team, and external vendors to ensure benefits programs are administered accurately, compliantly, and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently administer global employee benefits programs, including medical, retirement, wellness, leave, and statutory benefits across multiple countries.
  • Manage day-to-day benefits operations, including enrollments, changes, audits, reconciliations, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, resolving complex cases related to healthcare, retirement, and payroll-integrated benefits.
  • Administer and support US retirement programs, including 401(k) plans, partnering with recordkeepers, payroll, and plan advisors to ensure accurate eligibility, enrollments, contributions, vesting, and compliance.
  • Partner closely with the Global Payroll team to ensure accurate payroll deductions, employer contributions, and benefits-related payroll feeds, including 401(k) contributions and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and HR Operations to support onboarding, offboarding, employee life-event changes, and benefits education across regions.
  • Support benefits due diligence and integration activities for newly acquired companies, including alignment of retirement and benefits programs with Banyan’s global framework.
  • Monitor regulatory and compliance requirements across supported regions, including US-qualified retirement plan requirements; escalate risks and support remediation activities.
  • Prepare and maintain benefits reporting, including enrollment data, utilization trends, cost tracking, and vendor performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential benefits data in HRIS and benefits administration systems, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate with external brokers, carriers, recordkeepers, and third-party administrators to resolve issues, support renewals, and maintain service levels.

 

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in benefits administration, total rewards, or HR operations, preferably in a global or multi-country environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of employee benefits programs, including healthcare, insurance, statutory benefits, and US-qualified 401(k) retirement plans.
  • Experience supporting global benefits administration across the US, Canada, India, and Pakistan. Other preferred regions include the UK, Europe and APAC.
  • Hands-on experience supporting 401(k) administration, including payroll integration, employee and employer contributions, eligibility, vesting, reconciliations, and employee inquiries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex benefits topics to diverse employee populations.
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems, and benefits administration platforms.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions preferred.
